Our Promise to You Regarding Your Privacy

At 20/20 Research we do more than protect your data. We care about your privacy.

As a global leader in marketing research, 20/20 Research knows the value of information and understands your concerns about privacy. As a result, we believe that you have the right to know how we collect and use your personal information. 20/20 Research values your trust and respects your privacy - and is committed to protecting them.

How does 20/20 Research gather and use customer information?
When you register to take part in a focus group, obtain technical support, subscribe to our Qualboard™ service, or respond to our promotional campaigns we will gather certain information from you to respond to your request. For example, we will collect personal information such as your credit card number, contact information, billing and shipping address and use it to complete your order when subscribing to our Qualboard™ research tool. When you register to join our panel we will ask you for a minimum of your name, home phone number, email address, birth date and gender. We will ask you also to supply optional demographic information such as race, education level, etc. In addition, we may use aggregate information to improve our website, but that information is never personally identifiable. 20/20 Research does not intend to collect information from children who are under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you should not provide information on this site and should ask you parent or guardian to do so for you.

To what parties do we disclose personal information?
Card authorization and fraud screening services. We do not collect credit card subscription information online, however, if you use a credit card or a debit card to subscribe to Qualboard™, we will use the highly secured online services of VeriSign to validate your card information, to confirm that the card has not been reported lost or stolen, and to set up recurring monthly charges for your subscription. That's it. Nobody else gets personal information from us about you.
Agencies or authorities with whom we are legally required to cooperate. We may disclose information during the investigation of fraud or illegal activity. For example, we may disclose personal information in response to a subpoena, warrant, court order, or comparable legal process.
Other than those two categories, we do not disclose personal information collected from our web site to any one. Period.

Note to European Customers: The information you provide us will be transferred outside the European Economic Area for the purpose of processing by 20/20 Research Corporation, its affiliates and agents. By submitting your information, you agree to that international transfer.

What are cookies and how does 20/20 Research use them?
Like most companies, 20/20 Research uses cookies to customize our communication and provide you with better service. Cookies are tiny bits of information stored on your computer. That file may contain information used to track the Web pages you have visit or how often you've visited 20/20 Research's site. The primary reason 20/20 Research uses cookies is to prepare customized pages for you. You can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, or you can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. For information on cookies and their potential security risks (however minute), you are encouraged to visit the W3 Security FAQ Web site.

How Does 20/20 Use Cookies?
We do not store any personally identifiable information in cookies.

The 20/20 Research and Qualboard™ use cookies to log and track IP addresses to get an accurate count of users visiting our site, what they looked for while at the site, how many pages they viewed and similar tracking data. This information is used in an aggregate form to help us improve the content of our sites, to evaluate trends and to predict demand for services. IP addresses of visitors to our sites are logged and tracked for systems administration purposes (such as to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website) and to track a user's session (to give us an idea of which parts of our site people are visiting). We do not link your IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.

In the future, 20/20 Research may choose to use cookies for other purposes, but if so, we will modify this policy to say how.

How secure is the personal information I provide 20/20 Research?
20/20 Research believes that it uses reasonable precautions, including a firewall, to protect your personal information. For our online discussion groups (Qualboard™) we automatically encrypt all information in transit between your computer and our server using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits. (To crack a message encrypted with such a key by brute force would take significantly longer than the age of the universe using conventional technology.) Before you register or log in to a Qualboard™ discussion, our server checks that you're using an approved browser--one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher.

Once your information reaches us, it resides on a server that is heavily protected. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards on your information. Only authorized employees are permitted to access customer information. Authorized employees have been trained on how to handle information properly and are subject to strict limitations and guidelines in the handling of that information. Only a very small number of authorized employees is ever permitted to access customer credit card information, and that information is never stored on our computers.
